With spring around the corner, you'll soon be saying putting away your chunky knit sweaters and reintroducing your favourite warmer weather pieces. Yay! Spring is also a great time to edit your skincare and makeup routines. Read on for a few of our favourite tips.
The great thing about spring - when it comes to skincare - is that the average temperature seems to make most skin happy. There's more humidity in the air so dry skin feels less tight and itchy, and oily skin doesn't feel overwhelmed by heat (like in summer). Now's a great time to scale back on the use of oil serums. You may notice you only need to apply it once a day (instead of twice) or spot treat dry areas (instead of applying over entire face). Or perhaps you need to switch to a lighter moisturizing option like our oil free, hyaluronic acid gel. If you have oily skin, you may be able to get away with just using an alcohol-free face mist. Continue the rest of your routine as normal (cleansing, toning, exfoliating, masking).
The natural makeup look (the real one, not the 10-step one) is such a great option for spring time. It's effortless, minimal and so quick.
STEP 1: rinse face with cool water
STEP 2: spritz face mist on face
STEP 3: apply moisturizer of choice (we recommend Moisture Boost) & wait a couple minutes
STEP 4: apply Glow serum (if you want a bit of coverage, mix Glow with a bit of foundation).
STEP 5: apply mascara
STEP 6: fill brows if needed
STEP 7: apply tinted lip balm (add to cheeks too!)
LOOK: A hair look that goes well with the above minimalistic makeup look is the high ponytail. It's easy and fuss-free. We love these sustainable, plastic-free, biodegradable elastics. Add a nice wave with a large-barrel curling iron or waver.
PRODUCT: Whatever your hair type, having dry shampoo on hand is a good idea. It helps to refresh and stretch out shampoo days. Especially great for bangs and post-gym sessions when you just can't be bothered to wash your hair.
